The most talented architects, in my opinion, have the uncanny ability to incorporate the natural surroundings of a property into the design plan. Walker Warner exemplifies this skill in their masterful creations. Everything from the placement of windows to materials chosen mimic the outdoors. Often exuding a rustic quality, their homes are most commonly located in San Francisco and the surrounding areas.

Wanna Buy It Wednesday: 3134 Ellicott Street, NW, Washington, DC

The 2011 DC Design House is still for sale! Located in an established upper Northwest neighborhood of DC, 3134 Ellicott Street is a 1925 Tudor home that sits on over an acre of land. Not only is the home unique in that it was once a party spot for DC's rich and famous, it has recently been renovated by 21 of the area's top designers.  The backyard is perfect for parties featuring a beautiful koi pond, boxwood gardens and an enormous pool.   With 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, two kitchens plus a guest house, there is ample space for guests. 
I've seen this house for myself in person and can most definitely attest to its extravagance! It is currently on the market for 4.9 million.

I Made These This Weekend

 I thought about taking my own photos, but who can rival the aesthetic quality of Olivia Rae's pictures? Needless to say, this Flourless Chocolate Cake recipe was truly delicious. 

Ingredients:
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
1 stick butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Melt chocolate and butter over low heat or a double broiler. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar and eggs. Add vanilla extract. Sift in cocoa powder and salt and mix until smooth. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, or longer if you use an 8-inch round pan.
